King George IV is a historic countryside coaching Inn with a pub and restaurant located in Eskdale within the Lake District National Park.
The Inn is perfectly situated for walking and exploring the Western Lake District, with mountains, beaches and lakes all within easy reach.
We have live music one night a month.
Great Food
Hearty food can be enjoyed in the bar, the snug, the dining room, or the beer garden. Where possible, ingredients are sourced locally in order to keep the food miles to a minimum. A lunch menu is available comprising of sandwiches, filled rolls, and jacket potatoes. The main menu is available throughout the day and features all of the usual pub favourites, including steak and ale pie, scampi, and lasagne, with daily specials offering something a bit more unusual.

We have a choice of dining areas available including our dining room with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. You can also dine in our snug, bar area, or if the weather permits, we have tables outside the front, plus a beer garden to the rear.

We have a choice of three newly refurbished self catering apartments available to rent from as little as £100 per night.
Eel Tarn Apartment
One bedroom apartment (sleeps 2) includes the use of an original stone open fireplace, a newly installed kitchen with all amenities, newly installed bathroom with bath and shower over and mezzanine double bedroom.
Devoke Water Apartment
Two bedrooms (sleeps 4) including a double and a twin. The bathroom features a bath with a shower over. Open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, toaster and kettle. The living area has a comfy sofa and Flatscreen TV.
Blea Tarn Apartment
Two en-suite bedrooms (sleeps 4) including a double and a twin bedded room, each with its own bathroom with bath and shower over. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, toaster and kettle. The open plan living room has two sofas and large Flatscreen TV.
